Worked at Scovill Manufacturing

WATERBURY Ann B. Mazurkivich,- age 91, of Waterbury CT, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2020, at Glendale Health Care Center in Naugatuck after a extended illness. She was the loving wife of Anthony P. Mazurkivich.

Ann was born in Waterbury, CT on August 27, 1928, the daughter of the late James J. and Agnes (O’Hara) Brennan. She graduated from SS. Peter & Paul Grammar School and Waterbury Catholic High School. Upon her graduation from Bryant College in Smithfield, Rhode Island, Ann joined Scovill Manufacturing Company in their Apparel Fastener Division, as an assistant to the Sales Promotion Manager. Scovill was the source of many fond memories for Ann, both personally and professionally. After meeting and marrying her husband, Anthony, who also worked at Scovill, Ann stepped away to be a stay at home mother. She returned to Scovill several years later, to the same division, and eventually was promoted to Product Marketing Manager.

Ann was a member of the Cha Rum Bo Dance Club, where she and her husband enjoyed many evenings ballroom dancing and other social events. She belonged to the Prospect Senior Center and appreciated many of their activities including line dancing, luncheons and trips. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, with a quick wit and good sense of humor, who enjoyed being well read and informed on current events. Ann will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Left to cherish her memory and honor her love and legacy are her husband of 56 years, Anthony Mazurkivich of Waterbury, her son, Robert of East Hartford, her daughter, Carol, of Waterbury, her sister-in-law, Eleanor Brennan of Litchfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Lt. James Brennan, of the Waterbury Police Department, and her sister, Mary Agnes Brennan.

Ann’s family would like to thank all of the staff at Glendale Health Care Center and Seasons Hospice for their kindness and their compassionate care during Ann’s illness.

“When tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart.
For every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.” – Unknown
