“Devoted to his family”

WATERBURY- Anthony Cordell Waiters, age 34, of Waterbury CT, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2020 surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a courageous battle with cancer at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Anthony was born May 9th 1985 in Waterbury, CT, the son of Anthony Waiters and Deborah Council. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Crosby High School, Class of 2003. Anthony was very hardworking and was employed by the United States Postal Service in Watertown for 15 years where he worked as a letter carrier. He loved travelling and taking cruises all over the world. Anthony was a friendly, fun-loving guy who would best be described as the life of the party. He touched the hearts of everyone he knew and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.

Left to cherish his memory and honor his love and legacy besides his parents are his sister, Letetia Jones and her husband, Calvin, of Waterbury, his maternal grandmother, Sadie Bush of Waterbury and paternal grandmother, Dorothy Waiters Givins of South Carolina. He also leaves his adoring nieces and nephews; Jaylie, Jayden, Cailyn, and Cierra as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins other extended family members and many friends.

My prayers are with the Council, Jones, and Waiters families. I’ve known Anthony since middle school and we remained best friends in high schools. Ant had an energy incomparable to anyone I’ve ever met. He was always positive and lived life to his fullest. I’ll never forget our adolescent memories. Thank you for being my close friend, prom date, and always a fashion guru. I love you and pray God sends your family and friends peace, strength, and comfort. ❤️ - Candice
