I write this with an incredibly heavy heart. I am a volunteer at Masonicare. I typically visit the 5th floor residents on Tuesday afternoons with my maltese dog, Gisele. I know I will not be able to adequately describe how much joy I found in visiting Bernice, but I will try my best. I would find myself so excited to see her beautiful and contagious smile each week. Bernice and I had wonderful conversations of both my family and hers. She was so incredibly proud of her family and the close bond she had with each member. In fact, over Thanksgiving she laughed while telling me me how exhausted she was after visiting. She said so much family was gathered together and everyone wanted to spend time with her and it wiped her out! We agreed there was no better “exhaustion” in the world to have than to be smothered with love. The flowers, cards and pictures that filled her room told a story of how special she was and how much love this amazing mother showed her children. I will miss our laughs and talks very much. I wish I knew of her passing earlier because I would have preferred to personally tell her family how special a woman she was. I feel blessed to have met her and learned from her. Some people have a unique ability to leave a lasting impression on you and Bernice was one of those people. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time of loss. May her memories be a blessing. With Sympathy, Lauren Biller
