LOVED SPENDING TIME WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS, GARDENING, AND CHOCOLATE!

SOUTHBURY – Claire Lorraine (Pratt) (Creem) Piel, age 86, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on April 12, 2021. She was the loving wife of Arthur Piel.

Claire was born on August 26, 1934 in Waterbury CT, the daughter of the late Hector and Isabelle (Bernier) Pratt. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School and received her associated degree from Bryant College and worked for many years at Platt Brothers. Claire was loving, spiritual, and cared deeply for her friends and family. She had a beautiful heart and a sweet smile, especially when presented with a chocolate bar! Claire enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her tomato garden, admiring nature, jigsaw puzzles, and traveling with her friends. Claire took great joy in spending time with her family, which often included playing a card game of Skat!

Left to honor Claire’s legacy and treasure her memories besides her husband, Arthur Piel of 21 years of Manassas, VA; are her brother, Robert Pratt (wife Ida) of Atlanta, GA; and sister, Denise Pratt of Prospect. She also leaves her children; Ken Creem (wife Fran) of Wolcott; Thomas Creem (wife Jeanne) of Oakville; Nancy Creem of Pensacola, FL; and Cathy Riefenhauser (husband Mark) of Southbury, with whom she lived. In addition, she also leaves her seven grandchildren; Michael Creem, Jason Creem (wife Ashley), Jeffrey Creem (wife Jessica), Jordan Creem, Jon Creem, Adam Riefenhauser, and Keri Riefenhauser.
