“Devoted to her family”

WOLCOTT – Gloria L. (Tamburini) Del Buono of Wolcott, passed away peacefully at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Marys Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Joseph A. Del Buono Sr.

She worked for many years for the State of CT, Superior Court, Family Relations Division and retired as Supervisor of the Unit. She loved her job and made many friends there. Whether cooking, making her famous sauce or just spending time, she was devoted to her grandchildren and they returned that devotion ten fold. Gloria had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to laugh and was never a burden to anyone. She enjoyed the beach and was a devout Catholic, a member of St. Basil the Great Parish. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

To Children ~ Lori, Gail, Joe, Gary & brother ~ Louie

I am currently in California, so Dan & I haven't always gotten to the Waterbury Republican... We just saw Gloria's Obituary and were so saddened. Our deepest condolences to all...

Gloria ~ only wonderful things come to mind when I think of her... Our neighbor on Badger Road, our tenant on Deanna Lane. We loved her! Her sauce always smelled so good when I got home from work! There was always some for Dan & I. She always loved her Christmas Tree and we would sit in the dark and just look at it...

I really missed her when she moved to Wolf Hill, but we kept in touch and visited over the years. Helping her clean our her closet was one of our favorite things... She gave clothing to my sisters. Gloria was just so generous with everything ~ especially her love. I wish I had visited move now, but life happens and without realizing it - I forgot to call or visit as much as I would have liked to.

BUT KNOW ~ She was dearly loved by me!
