Obituary

THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF IBRAHIM ANTONIOS

Proud of his Lebanese Heritage.

WATERBURY – Ibrahim Antonios age 93 of Waterbury passed away peacefully at LiveWell Center in Plantsville after an extended illness. He was the devoted husband of Lila (Ammari) Antonios together for 57 wonderful years.

Ibrahim was born on April 10, 1927 in Beirut Lebanon, the son of the late Elias and Victoria (Haddad) Antonios. Proud to be an American citizen, Ibrahim proudly served this country in the U.S. Army, National Guard. Ibrahim’s storied career began as an Insurance Agent for Bankers Life and Casualty, where he was nationally recognized as one of the top agents in the country for many years. After his insurance career, he made the decision to become self-employed, and soon developed and operated the 7A’s Furniture Company. Al retired after 20 years in that business, where he loved interacting with his many customers and friends. Ibrahim’s most enjoyable time was spent with his family, and gardening in his backyard. So very proud of his Lebanese heritage, he was widely known for his use of his Lebanese “Arghile” or Hookah, and was honored to be chosen as Lebanese Mayor of the Day for the City of Waterbury. He spent all of his adult life in Waterbury’s East End, was an avid golfer and member of the East Mountain Golf League, in addition to the Mill Plain league at Highland Greens, and a member of Perillo’s Bowling League. Al was also a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his love and memory, besides his devoted wife of 57 years, are his children; sons; Joseph Antonios and his wife, Gina of Middlebury, Mark Antonios and his wife, Maria of Randolph MA and Patrick Antonios and his wife, Jennifer of Waterbury, his daughters, Susan Buonomo and her husband, Domenic of Wolcott; and son-in-law Steven Hayes and predeceased by his loving daughter, Diane Hayes. Ibrahim and Lila were blessed with nine, adoring grandchildren. The Antonios family would like to acknowledge and thank the wonderful staff at LiveWell Center in Plantsville for the outstanding care and love they shared with Ibrahim during his stay there.

Due to the current governmental restrictions concerning COVID 19, funeral services for Mr. Antonios will be private and held at the convenience of his family. A Memorial Mass will be held and publicly announced at Mary Mother of the Church, SS Peter & Paul Church when restrictions have been lifted. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury has been honored to assist the family in their time of need. Please keep the entire Antonios family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. Memories endure only if you share them, so you are encouraged to leave a condolence, words of comfort or a personal memory with the Antonios family on Ibrahim’s tribute page at www.eastsidememorial.com.
