WATERBURY - Jean L. (Anderson) Foley Selle Lindsey, passed away on December 14, 2019.

Jean was born in Waterbury on July 26, 1939, to the late Carl A. and Mildred M. Anderson. She was predeceased by her brothers Arthur and Gordon “Gordie” Anderson, and her nephew Kevin Woodfield.
Jean graduated from Wilby High School with the class of 1957, and attended Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing. She was the matriarch of the family and arranged many memorable gatherings.
She enjoyed playing Scrabble on the beach, reading mystery novels, and endless telephone conversations with her girlfriends Kay, Linda, and the late Smitty and Dottie (her kids would have to follow the telephone cord to find her).
Jean is survived by her baby brother, Raymond L. Anderson, of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; her favorite sons, James “Jaime” W. Selle of Waterbury, and Wayne T. Selle of Terryville; and her twins, Karen (Foley) Hunter of Winsted, Kathleen (Foley) and husband Andrew Meccariello, of Waterbury.
She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jeana (Meccariello) Monteiro, Jacob Hunter, Lauren (Meccariello) Esposito, Derek Hunter, Jennifer Hunter, Aaron Meccariello, Raquel Meccariello, Summer Selle, Cierra Church; and great-grandson, Donovan; beloved nieces and nephews Andersons, Woodfields, Rockhills, Matthews, Foleys, and many out- and in-laws and friends.
Jean’s children would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff in the Meadowview Dementia Unit, Valerie Manor, for their care and compassion.
Calling hours will be at Casey’s Eastside Memorial, 1987 E. Main St., Waterbury, on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Sending you all so much love!! Remembering years ago, how playful Auntie Jeanie was and how her laugh would make everyone else laugh. So hard to lose a parent - guessing that there's a big party going on in Heaven! 💕
With so much love,
Tom, Holly & Mom

I remember Christmas Eve's at either the Woodfield or Rockhill houses with all the cousins running around excited about Santa. Aunt Jean was so much fun - she was always the cool aunt with her stylish clothes and pretty hair dos. Many many fond memories of Aunt Jean, Uncle Junior and the Foley and Selle cousins. RIP Aunt Jean. Say hi to Kevin for us!!
