WATERBURY – Lois J. Longo, age 69 of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly at Saint Mary’s Hospital on Monday, March 30, 2020 due to complications of COVID-19 virus.

Lois was born July 28, 1950 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Lester and Pauline (Menard) Montambault. She was raised in Waterbury, later moved to Terryville to raise her children and returned to Waterbury where she was currently living. She was a graduate of Crosby High School. She enjoyed traveling to car shows with her sister, bowling with the Colonial Seniors League, playing Bingo at Saint Anthony’s and always looked forward to her Friday night Canasta card games with her friends and family.

Left to cherish her memory, and honor her love and legacy are her children; Joseph Longo and his girlfriend, Brandi Nichols of Watertown, her daughter, Shellie Longo-Collins and her wife, Sarah Collins of New Haven. She also leaves her sisters; Claire Dileo (Joe) of Waterbury, Doris Banda (Lou) of Oakville, Carol Bisaillon (Bob) of Waterbury, and sister in-law Liz Montambault of Thomaston. Lois was blessed with 6 wonderful grandchildren; Chelsea and her husband, Jonathan, Christopher, Jacob, Braelyn, Camdyn and many very special nieces and nephews. She was looking forward to the birth of her first great grandchild. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Montambault and nephews, Jaret Kulmann, David Montambault, and Jason Bisaillon.

The Longo family would like to thank the heroes of Saint Mary’s Hospital for their compassionate and dedicated efforts in caring for Lois. To honor Lois’s kind and fun-loving spirit please extend an act of kindness, share a smile, or lend a hand to help as she always did.

Due to the current COVID-19 guidelines and associated governmental restrictions regarding the pandemic, all services will be held privately. Once the restrictions are lifted, a public service will be announced. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home has been honored to assist the Longo family during this difficult time. Memories endure only if you share them, so you are encouraged to leave a condolence, words of comfort or a personal memory with the Longo family on Lois’s tribute page at

My beautiful sister where have you gone? You left us so suddenly and way too soon. We had plans and tons of good times still to be had as we grew older. Never would have thought this was your end and the beginning of our forever missing you. You were loving life and having so much fun with all the things you were involved in. You always made time for all of us. You left us with such a big void and I'll never get over missing you. Rest in eternal peace. I will love you forever my beautiful sister. ..Carol
