Obituary

THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF MARGUERITE STOTO

Reunited With Her Husband Again After 24 Years

OAKVILLE - Marguerite “Peggy” Stoto, age 94, of Oakville CT, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2020 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of Saint Mary’s Hospital. She was the loving widow of Anthony Stoto.

Peggy was born on June 17, 1926 in Waterbury, CT, the the daughter of the late Frank & Elizabeth (Marzano) Lerose. At the age of 18, while working at Holland Hughes, Peggy met and married the love of her life, Tony. Soon after marriage, the two started a family. She worked for many years as a meat packer for Everybody’s Market & as a sales associate for Casual Corner. Peggy loved to spend time with her family especially her great grandchildren. She was a fantastic Italian cook and baker. If you were lucky enough, she’d let you taste her famous chocolate cake. She was an avid reader, puzzle master and loved to gamble. She was a very talented crafter that loved to sew and create beautiful handmade treasures. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her

Left to cherish her memories and honor her love and legacy is her daughter; Anmarie, 4 grandchildren, Bobby (Wife, Jennifer), Jasmine, Michael, Gina (husband, Bobby), 7 Great Grandchildren, Marcia, Max, Roman, Alana, Bobby, Nicky and Mia. She also leaves behind her sister, Phyliss (Husband Russ) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her husband, Peggy was predeceased by her son, Thomas Stoto, her brothers, Frank and William as well as her sisters, Dorothy, Evelyn and Marie.

In order to honor the final wishes of Peggy, there be no services. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home has been honored to care for Peggy and assist the Stoto family. In lieu of flowers, to honor Peggy’s memory, donations may be made to The Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901. Memories endure only if you share them, so you are encouraged to leave a condolence, words of comfort or a personal memory with the Stoto family on Marguerite’s tribute page at www.eastsidememorial.com

We are all so sorry to hear of Peggy’s passing. She was a wonderful person who brightened everyone’s day. I remember growing up living next door to Peggy and Tony and AnneMarie they were the best neighbors. Peggy was an amazing cook and taught me how to cook the best Italian food from scratch. I still make her recipes to this day and think of her each time I do. Our condolences to the entire family.

Peggy was our neighbor in Waterbury for 30 years. You couldn't find a sweeter person . Our kids loved her, as did we. She was also the greatest cook imaginable. We will miss her and all the wonderful times that we had with her and Tony. She is with Tony and Tommy now, and there is probably a big Italian feast going on in Heaven .We will miss you always . Love, Marianne and Vinnie

When I was young, in the summer we had Sunday Picnics at my Grandmother's house on Burr St. Most Sundays it was all the aunts, uncles and cousins., and there were a lot of cousins. Sunday was always a family day . Those are great family memories.

Words cannot describe what you meant to all of us. Gram/Gigi will remain in our hearts forever. Roman and Alana will miss eating the best macaroni and meatballs ever, vacuuming your living room, playing hide and seek, mixing up your puzzle pieces, but most of all, getting hugs and kisses from their Gigi. Give Poppy a hug and kiss from all of us. We'll miss you forever xoxo
