I'm proud to have known this great lady for many many years. Marie always knew how to make you laugh. My husband, Danny, loved her like everyone who knew her. The last time I saw her was in Stop & Shop on Reidville Drve. I was waiting for someone to come out of the back room at the meat dept. We hugged and I told her I was waiting. She said did you ring the bell? I told her I knew nothing about a bell. She mumbled some words in Italian, clapped her hands and shouted "can someone come out and help this lovely lady." Well someone did. They all knew her and you could tell she even liked her. Medical reasons keep me from getting out. Mabel, Marie, Dan and I had good times with her..............So sorry.

Back in the day, Marie used to waitress at the Holiday Inn (now the Courtyard) when I used to bartend there. I got a ringside seat to it all. Having Marie wait on you was an experience, like a Broadway show. She was a pro and people came back for more over and over again. She was a personality, one of our golden girls (even though she was way too young) along with Marcella, Judy, Donna and the rest, they took care of hotel guests and Waterbury locals old school. She was a spark plug with a quick wit and forever helpful. She was practiced in the art of delivering service and entertainment. My condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones, but heaven just got a lot more fun. RIP.
