Thomaston —Marie Josephine Hychko passed away peacefully on February 27, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family and is now soaring with the Angels. She was the beloved wife of John F. Hychko for 68 years.

Marie was born on April 25, 1930 in Waterbury, CT., the daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Guisto) Ferrucci. Marie graduated from Wilby High School class of 1948.She loved roller-skating in her early days and won many championships. She played the organ and loved singing along to Tammy Wynette and other music. She enjoyed hosting many a party and times by the pool. She was very domesticated and would do anything for anyone. It was a very hectic life for Marie raising 9 children, instilling good family, moral and Christian values and dealing with the daily trials and tribulations of life as she knew it. Marie loved to make holidays special for her family and friends, no one ever left her home hungry. Marie was loved by the parishioners of Saint Margret’s Church in Waterbury where she was a Eucharistic Minister and cooked weekly for the children of Saint Margret’s Elementary School. Marie did everything on a voluntary basis. Marie was a member of several woman’s organizations over the years. Marie also loved to attend shows at the Oakdale and Bushnell with friends and family over the years. She was a proud supporter of every charitable organization you could think of and even the non-charitable (QVC,HSN) !

Left to cherish her memory and honor her love and legacy are her husband John Francis Hychko, Sr.; her eight surviving children, John Jr., David and his longtime partner, Andrea, Gary, Louis and his wife Laura, Paul and his wife, Jackie, Lisa and her husband, Vinny, Michael and his wife, Jennifer, and Michelle; her grandchildren, Kevin, Heather, Brian, Jessica, Gary Jr., John, Louis Jr., Stephanie, Paul Jr., Kyle, Matt, Megan, Mikey, Hailey, Samantha, Therese; and her great-grand children, Giuliana, Angelina, Nathaniel, Reis, Brain Jr., Hazel, Cassius, Celeste, Logan, Joey, Lorraine, Julia, Audrey, and almost here, Jonah !She is also survived by her baby brother John Ferrucci. Marie will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

The family especially thanks all moms’ caregivers, especially Lisa and former daughter-in-law Elaine Nicholas Hychko. She was predeceased by her brother Anthony Ferrucci, sister Ceil Bernier, and her daughter Therese Hychko.

Funeral services for Marie will be held on Monday March 2, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes S Main St, Waterbury, CT 06706 to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. All those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church.
