Obituary

THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF SERENITY PEREZ

Attended Washington Elementary School

WATERBURY – Serenity Mia-Lee Perez age 7, passed away tragically following a motor vehicle accident on Sunday, July 5, 2020. She was the daughter of Yolanda Perez and Victor Rivera.

Serenity was born on August 13, 2012 in Waterbury and was a student at Washington Elementary School. She was the brightest light in the world for all of her family, with a smile that could literally turn everyone she met into one of her very best friends. She was taken away from us way too soon and under very tragic circumstances. Despite only being with us for seven short years, she will be very sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Besides her parents of Waterbury, Serenity leaves to honor her memory, her maternal grandparents; Martha Vargas Moreno and Ociel Vargas and her paternal grandmother, Francisca Acosta, her Godparents; Alex Enrique Perez Moreno and Yazmin Moreno and her Uncles; Marcos Perez Moreno and Anthony Vargas, Aunt; Khalany Vargas, and many more extended family members.

Funeral services for Serenity will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St Waterbury to All Saints - Todos Los Santos @ the Shrine of St. Anne to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit with Serenity’s family on Friday morning from 9:00 till 10:00 am at the funeral home State regulations and guidelines currently in effect regarding COVID-19 restrictions will be strictly enforced at all public events. Memories endure only if you share them so you are encouraged to leave a condolence, words of comfort or a personal memory with the Perez family on Serenity’s tribute page at www.eastsidememorial.com.

My heart was caught over the tragic loss of your beautiful Serenity and I wanted to send my warmest condolences to the family. To lose a child, a part of you, can bring such overwhelming grief but the God of all comfort tells us at Psalms 139:16 He knew her even before you did and feels your pain. At jw.org we can read John 5:28, 29 that you will have your precious daughter in your arms once again. May all the love you felt give you calm and peace to help you through the dark moments until God’s promises come true. Again so very sorry for your heartache.🌻

Lord..Father in Heaven...grant us Serenity.
No Lord, not the serenity prayer...yes, I know, "grant me serenity to accept the things I cannot change"...no...I mean, yes
But what I mean is...grant us Serenity!
Are you in need of more angels in heaven?
Why was she taken so soon?
Aren't there other souls longing for eternity?
Why did she have to leave just when her journey here had begun?
Please, God, hear my heart...grant us Serenity!, bring her back to her mother's arms!
What do you want in return to grant us this most wanted blessing?
Lord...grant us Serenity...please...Amen.

LOSING A CHILD IS A TRAUMATIC EVENT FOR A PARENT AND FINDING THE RIGHT WORDS TO SAY ARE NOT EASY. IT IS AN UNIMAGINABLE OCCURRENCE FOR ANY PARENT TO BEAR ESPECIALLY GIVEN THE CIRCUMSTANCES THAT TOOK THE PRECIOUS LIFE OF SERENITY MIA-LEE PEREZ.
THIS PARTICULAR LOSS IS A CHALLENGE. THERE ARE NO WORDS THAT CAN MEND THE BROKEN HEARTS OF THE FAMILY. THE ECUADORIAN COMMUNITY WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHIES TO THE MOTHER AND FAMILY MEMBERS THAT HAVE TO GO ON WITHOUT THIS BEAUTIFUL GIRL AND THEY WANT THE FAMILY TO KNOW THAT THEY DO NOT SUPPORT THE ACTIONS OF THE MAN WHO TOOK HER FROM THEM.
WE ARE ASKING OUR COMMUNITY TO PRAY FOR THE FAMILY AND OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE WITHIN YOUR POWER TO HELP THE FAMILY GET THROUGH THIS.
