THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF William H. Galpin Sr.

OAKVILLE – William H. Galpin Sr., 70, of Oakville, passed away unexpectedly at Waterbury Hospital on Thursday, December 5, 2019. He was the husband of Susan (O’Rourke) Galpin.

William was born August 13, 1949 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Arnold and Harriette (Minor) Galpin. He grew up and was educated in Woodbury. He spent many years as a tractor trailer driver, first for Century Brass and most recently for Bozzuto’s Inc. William was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed hunting, and also loved reading and history.

Left to remember, cherish, and honor William’s love and legacy are his wife, Susan, of 39 years, his son, William Galpin Jr., and his wife, Kyla, of Northfield, his daughters, Sarah Conroy, and her husband, Chad, of Watertown, and Emily Galpin of Watertown. He also leaves his siblings, Nancy Gonneville, of Bristol, CT, Carolyn Alessandrone, and Elizabeth Hapgood, both of Fairburn, GA. He also leaves his adoring grandchildren, Gage Rohrer, Jacob Galpin, Alison Conroy, Madeline Conroy, and Gatlin Galpin as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins other extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Linda Galpin, and his brother-in-law, Richard Gonneville.

A memorial gathering for Mr. Galpin will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd., Waterbury from 5:00 pm until the time of the prayer service at 6:45 pm. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
